Making 1G TSI look non-turbo

I'm wanna go for that sleeper look... aside from a few gauges and exhaust, this looks like a stock turbo car...
What else can I do to make the car look like it has less hp...
Can you remove the stock spoiler???

I've seen people do that too... If it does affect it at all, it would be minimal and hardly noticeable. If a sleeper is what you want then I would do that. If you really wanna go for the "the car has no balls" look, then you could always beat the hell out of the body panels and then put a nice gay aluminum wing on it. I see lots of stupid slow cars like that around here. Yesterday I saw a Geo metro with a reaaallly tall aluminum spoiler on it and some fake hood scoop that was mounted crooked. It was pretty funny. lol

I agree. I think the utlimate sleeper look that would fool the hell out of people, more than having a beaten-up, stock looking appearence, is to have it look like the worst rice in the world. lol. Imagine the look on ppls faces as you rip them apart with the aluminum wing and the fake hood scoop on your ride...but no one knows what's under the hood, right?

Re: Making 1G TSI look non-turbo

Actually, I have a buddy who has a 400+hp 240sx. It has a slightly beaten body, stock wheels(steelies)/stock appearing tires, and most of all a luggage rack on the trunk. Lol yeah. This car looks like a beater but, he can spin 4th gear(small ass tires). Last time he dynoed he got to 319hp then spun the dyno, smoke everyyyy where.

WELL, I would get an adjustable bov. Like the greddy type s. I would set it correctly like I did mine (not too soft and a little hard). This way you won't blow off at 3k rpms while pulling up to the gas pump like I think every freakin srt4 does. I would either try to stick with a sidemount (supra smic) or even paint the fmic black like the rest said. As for exhaust you could always go the dual tip exhaust so it looks halfway stock. Or my favorite leave the stock muffler on and run an open down pipe lol.

Re: Making 1G TSI look non-turbo

I seen today a red 97 Eclipse GST with a Blitz kit on and a big FMIC. On the FMIC, he had painted GST across the front in red. This was by far the gayest thing I've ever seen (not quite, but you know). It's like, I know some companies put their logos on and all, but this was so obvious, all you see was the GST. It was done brighter than the car itself.

He was turning into Autozone, maybe to get some more paint for a second coat of it.

yeah, we removed the word turbo from the side, so now it says DOHC 16V...

It has talon on the back, I'm gonna look and see if it says TSI, if so, I'll try and get rid of that...

The car is a beast (I actually got it last night...)
it already has exhaust, and rims... but the other exhaust was stopping the turbo from spooling so quick and when it did spool, it would burn the tires off the stock rims...

I may paint the FMIC black... and put the grill on... any special kind of paint???

Re: Making 1G TSI look non-turbo

The guy that I bought my 90 GSX from actually wanted a stationary headlight conversion, but all he could find was a 93 GS donor car, so that's what he used. Front bumper, rear bumper and even sides skirts. I wasn't convinced that it was even a gsx until I checked for the rear diff. Can we say sleeper? I want to find some hub cap wheels for the full effect.

Re: Making 1G TSI look non-turbo

You can use radiator paint which helps transfer heat so you wouldn't decrease intercooler efficiency.

Sounds good... I am gonna see if I can do that... that and the grill... the stationary headlight thing sounds good, but too much work... gotta drop more money into the motor... I'm only running high 12's... (12.8-13.1, previous owner's times, I haven't had a chance to run it yet)... (8.3-8.7 in the 1/8th)...
man, I do need to change out that BOV... mine blows off too easy, and I had almost lined up a good race today, until it went off... then the guy pussied out... lol

Re: Making 1G TSI look non-turbo

Yeah, as for the bov I suggest the greddy type s. You can adjust the hardness/softness so you won't blow off real easily. Mine will only blow off if I hit the gas pretty hard and take it up past 3k rpms but, normal cruisen at like 25%-35% throttle is doesn't really blow off.
