Lumina Head Gasket Failure Rate
Hello everyone! I was must wondering if the 3.1 L engine for the Chevy Lumina was known for going bad. Any help would be appreciated.

The biggest issue with the 95-up 3100 is the intake gaskets. When they fail, they create a coolant leak into the engine, which can dilute the oil and cause lower end damage, or let air into the cooling system creating hot spots/steam pockets, which overheat the engine and blow the head gaskets.
