transmission cooler

I want to put a Transmission Cooler on my truck . It's a 1999 dodge ram 1500 5.2L. Does anyone know where to buy one and isn't too expensive? or have any comments.

Re: transmission cooler

I bought one for my 2001 Ram 1500 at Autozone, it was about $50.00.

Re: transmission cooler

Funny story, I did actually buy the cooler, but when I got home and went to put it on, I discovered that the truck already had a huge cooler on it from the factory. Thus, I simply returned the one I bought. So to answer your question, I really don't know, I never got that far.

Re: transmission cooler

I hate to tell you this, but if you are getting antifreeze out of your trany line, you have bigger isues than needing another trany cooler.

Re: transmission cooler

If you take the piece out of a dodge cooler it will leak coolant. I have seen it happen alot. I work at AAMCO and I have installed thousands of these coolers. Its best to just cut the cooler lines after the one way valve - then splice in a new cooler.
