Heater Hose Replacement

My 93 Escort GT has a pin hole in the heater hose that is next to the thermostat housing. It looks like it runs along the backside of the engine but i can't find where it stops. Does it go into a valve or something. Also what is the best way to replace this hose for under the car?

Re: Heater Hose Replacement

If it is the hose I think it is... it goes between the thermostat housing and the firewall/heater core. There should be a couple sensors inline with this hose. Probably easier to work on from above than below... I would think. Maybe remove the intake hose and possibly the battry to give you room to get in there.

Re: Heater Hose Replacement

Well i got the hose off it came from by the thermostat housing then under the intake and back into the block just above the oil filter. Does anyone know if this is a molded hose or a regular heater hose that you buy buy the foot. It does have a few bends in it but can't find anything that looks like it on the web. It is not the one with the metal pipe either.

Re: Heater Hose Replacement

Straight from the block, huh? How is your heater connected?

THe only way you will get this specific hose is through the dealer or from a boneyard/parts car.

I am sure you could get a length of hose that is not shaped for it, but make sure you use ties to support it and do not allow and kinks in it.
