Angry Please help me..........

I am installing a lift kit on my 99 chevy silverado 2WD half ton. The lower ball joint will not let go from the steering knuckle. I used a pickle fork and have been banging away but to no avail. This is a weekend project and I need an answer PLEASE !!!

ok this may sound stupid but ive seen it before in the past. you dont have it jacked up under the control arm do you??? otherwise all i can say is keep bangin at it, thats all you can really do.

You can also use a press and drifts.

I went thru this a couple of years ago . Beating on the thing with no success . Bought an air hammer with a fork on it for my air compressor . and it fell off in 2 seconds . I think it taks a high frequency vibration to brake them free . Rob

So I just got back from the mechanic. He used a air impact with a pickle fork to no avail. I am off to the dealer. Maybe they can help.

They may have to heat the old steering knuckle and use a portable press/puller to break the taper loose.
