Iam getting a noise front rt. CV joint closest to tranny has a little play. Seems to be where noise is comming from. Does anyone know if I have to pull the suspension apart to replace the half shaft? Any info will help. Thanks

Re: 01 Impala c CV joint
If you are referring to removing the strut and other front end components, yes. See tech procedure in link below which is applicable to any late model GM "W" body car.

Re: 01 Impala c CV joint
Here is an easier way:Remove the ball joint nut samck the spindle where the balljoint goes into.DO NOT USE A PICKLE FORK!I call them boot rippers.Have someone pry down the lower a frame down with a long pipe pole and swing the strut assembly out of the way while getting the axle out of the wheel bearing.I do it this way and it is easier and takes less time.pop out by tapping it out with a long punch being driven with a hammerThe other way takes too long and requires a front end alighnment after being done. You messed with the camber adjustments
