Countach 5000 photoetch?

As I mentioned in a previous thread, I have Fujimi's highly detailed but extremely hard to build Lamborghini Countach 5000QV enthusiast series kit. I wanted to paint it black, like the box art, but unfortunately, the rear emblem decals are printed only in black. While this is fine for any other color, it is not fine for black; those emblems are supposed to be chrome/silver. I figured I could just get a photoetch kit that would fix the problem and improve the model in other areas, too, but I couldn't find one . Does anybody know if a photoetch kit has been made and is available for the Countach 5000? The emblems are specific to that particular version, so generic Countach emblems won't work. Thanks.

Alex

Couldn't you just paint the black emblems silver? With Alclad2 for example.

Acusteon make a number of PE sets for the 1/24th scale Contachs. Check them out, you might be in luck.

Please don't take this as an insult, but are you kidding?! That little "5000quattrovalvole" emblem decal is so tiny that I can hardly read it, much less carefully paint the letters! Remember, this is a decal, not photoetch. Just so you know, though, I did think of that at first, but quickly ruled it out as impossible.

I tried looking for this (in fact, I have an AcuStion set for the Porsche 959), but got frustrated with the website, which was not condusive to finding anything. I'll look again, but I don't think they have a set for this car. Why, Lord, why??? Thanks for the ideas.

Re: Countach 5000 photoetch?

Yorozuya makes (or made, I don't know if they still exist) excellent PE for various Countach models. I have their set no. EP-2404, which has parts (including the scripts) for for the 5000QV, 25th Anniversary and the Koenig special, and it's great stuff. Included are also the windshield wipers that are sort of special on the Countach.

Don't know where to get it, but you might find it on ebay.

No offense taken

My bad. I misunderstood and thought your scripts were black P/E scripts and thats why I suggested painting them.

I'll read more carefully in future

Hope you find what you need.

Re: Countach 5000 photoetch?

Grand Prix Models has the Acu set in stock. . .

http://www.grandprixmodels.co.uk

Great to do business with!!!

The Yorozuya set is no longer on production. . . Tryin' to get your hands on these is next to impossible. . .

Good luck with your Countach and be sure to post it in the Lambo meet when through. . .

Re: Countach 5000 photoetch?

When it comes to QV, Yorozuya is the only option. Acu-Stion makes a couple of Countach pe sets, but they are for Fujimi LP400 and LP500 kits.
Where to find the Yorozuya one? Well, it's been discontinued for a while, so it's very hard to find now. Last I saw on Yahoo Japan Auction went up to something like 2600 yen!
