electrical problem, 2000 Ford Focus won't start

Hi, I am experiencing a problem with my 2000 Ford Focus. When I tried to start it up, it began to turn over, then died, like when the elecricity goes out in your house. I have not been able to get it to start since. The radio works fine, as do the electric door locks, the hazard lights, the running lights and the tail lights.

What doesn't work is the blower motor, the wipers, the headlights, the turn signals, and last but not least, the car doesn't start at all. Doesn't even turn over. Until this happened today, I have had no problems starting the car up.

Has anyone encounters this? Any ideas on what it could be or how to fix it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

make sure battery cables are clean and battery has full charge 12-12.6v. check all your fuses

Hello, I was wondering if you have founded out what is wrong with your ford focus.My car is doing the same thing.At first all the lights would blink off and on, and all the gage hands would move up and down.Then it finally stopped on me.We got to run after we put a box on it to read the codes and cleared them all and now it won't start.My car is a 2001 zx3 ford focus.I am interested if someone has told you what your problem is.Thanks

I have a 2001 zx3 ford focus and I am having problems with it not starting at all.At first all the lights come on the dash and the gages would move up and down in seconds.I have put a new alternator on it and it took the lights out.Now it won't start.It did run for a while before it quit all together.Me and husband is trying to fix.When we put the machine on it and wiped out all the codes so the lights went off.Now it won't do nothing , but the radio works and headlights do too.Thinking it might be a ground wire on starter but don't know how to get too it also.Thanks for any advise!!!!!

i have he same issue and it keeps recurring...i have to tow my car into the dealership to have the computer and keys reprogramed because for some reason they keep erasing...one time it will be 6 months before it recurrs and the next will be a week... im not really sure how to fix it for good but i would really like to know...(my dealership would too lol)
