Re: Tension Rods
If you want to get adjustable ones (as opposed to putting a polyurethane bushing in the stock ones) then I would say you should wait until www.bings.ca comes out with theirs because they have the lowest prices and the highest quality rear multi-link on the market (even better then www.splparts.com). He's working on a tension rod now.

Re: Tension Rods
the spl's are nice, as i have a set. Its hard to have a "better" tension rod lol. I mean look at 99% of tension rods....they're all the same. Things are just touched up and look different. They all get the job done. Some may offer a little bit different style pillowball end. Some offer dust covers etc. Just pick a set you like, it will do the job. Any known brand will do.

Re: Tension Rods
Bings.ca has even higher quality rod ends then SPL and the prices are cheaper and if you break a part due to an accident, you can buy just the part you damaged so if you snap the rod end caus eyou hit a wall, but the rest of the arm is good, any company will sell you 2 arms for 300$ or whatever they charge, bing will sell you the rod end for like 30 bucks.

Re: Tension Rods
seriously its a pillow ball end. Sure there are way better than other lesser valued brands. But once you hit a certain level, there all 99% the same style and concept. I mean its a freaking 100 dollar item....basic shit and cheap to make. Its like sayin one beer can is more rigid and has higher performance than another beer can. In the end they all get you hammerd. Any known brand name that has proven themselves will get the job done.
im not saying spl is the best or bings.ca or cusco or hks or tanabe or joe blow tension rod maker. Its a pretty basic piece lol, there is no best. You cant go wrong really aslong as its a well known and backed brand. They wouldnt be well known and backed if they sucked.

There are 4 levels of rod ends... 1- Cheap eBay crap: Will rust and bend/crack in no time. 2- Cusco/Tanabe/insert random JDM company: Good quality and amazing finish, but if you snap a rod end cause you hit a curb, it'll cost you 300-400$ for a new set of arms. 3- SPLparts.com/Battle Version: better quality and cheaper then #2, but if you snap that shit, you'll still have to pay 200$ for a new set. 4-bings.ca: better quality and cheaper then #3 and if you hit a curb and snap your rod end, you can buy a new rod end for 25$...sounds like a sweet deal. And btw, bings.ca prices are in CDN dollars, so it's even cheaper then that for you american people. |

Re: Tension Rods
if your paying 300-400 dollars for japanese suspension, you need to search more.

Re: Tension Rods
that shit is cheap to begin with, maybe like 30 bucks more than usdm made stuff. Who ever said the quality is better? Honestly once you get an actual set of tension rods and hold them, you will see there's nothing to a "quality" rod lol. You could go out and buy better rod ends on your own time and thread them to fit the rod if you really wanted to.
