Considering Purchasing a '01 A4 2.8 Quattro
I am considering buying my first Audi. It is a 2001 A4 2.8 Quattro, 5 speed manual, with 65K miles. Carfax checks good, car drives very well and handling is great. The seller does not have manuals nor service records. I'm guessing the timing belt should be changed if it hasn't been already. When is T-belt replacement due for this car? Any way to determine if T-belt was replaced recently? Any other major service items that may be due or common problems I should be aware of.

Check with Audi, as they should be able to look up on the system when it was last serviced and as for when the T belt should be done I would say now but Audi will say 80k.

Re: Considering Purchasing a '01 A4 2.8 Quattro
i recommend 90k but according to all data, who gets their information from audi it is 105, i have seen them go longer, just because people are cheap. that's why i run an independant shop, i would sell you anything for commission. they work on commission AND WANT TO MAKE MONEY.
