95' silo, cost of new engine?

I just bought a 95 silo, with a new trans, and and old engine,[176,ooo] original miles,from a car lot it runs great so far ,doesn't miss a beat,not a scratch or rip inside or out,everything works good, ,for 2000.00 dollars, for my wife ,who's expecting are first baby,but at 176'000 miles Id like to just put a new engine in it , does anyone know how much Im looking at here, roughly?.........fergg

Welcome to Af. 3800 engine?, why replace it till you have symptoms that would indicate the necessity for an engine change.
