99 Grand Am Shaking Problem

I this is my first post in this forum i just joined and already found a solution to one of my problems but i was wondering if anyone has any information on my 2 problems

1 my Grand Am Skakes when the car is in idle.
2 My gage of the temperature wont display the temp. This happend when a mechanic changed the transmission oil im sure he unpluged something or something small.

I have the 2.4l 4 door 1999 i dont know anything about cars but whant to learn. any help is much apresiated.

does it shake in drive also? -- I have a similar problem where the car shakes in idle and in drive and shakes really bad if I have the a/c on - after spending quite a bit of money - I was told it was the engine mounts - they aren't broke or anything they've expanded so it has been shaking like this for the past couple of years. As far as your other problem, it sounds like he knocked off the wire to the sending unit. I am not a mechanic so don't quote me

no it only shakes when its not moving and it shakes more whent the AC is on was it expensive to fix it? Thanks for your help

I never got it fixed - I got a quote for about $600.00 to have all 4 replaced. It was too expensive as I'm going to get rid of the car in a few months anyway. Nothing but problems.
