Tire sizes for stock TB's with stock 16's..

235/75-16
245/70-16
245/75-16
255/65-16
255/70-16

Got these from a post I have over at trailvoy. Basically the 235's are the smallest and the 255/70-16's are the biggest confirmed size that will fit a stock trailblazer with stock 16" wheels.

G/luck

Re: Tire sizes for stock TB's with stock 16's..

The helpful guys over at Discount Tire installed Pathfinder All Terrains on my 05 last Spring. They told me the LT265/75R16's were the biggest they would install. The things are great.
Off roading in the desert and mud the two or three times it rains is fine. No breaks or stucks. I did pull a full size Bronco out. He was thankful but surprised.

Are you positive you have 265/75-16's on your truck? This tire is approx 1" wider and 2" taller than stock. (typically 245/70's or 235/75's). I dont see how these would clear the upper balljoints in the front on a fully stock, regular wheel-base trailblazer. Check tire sizing here: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Yup. Read it right off the tire and the receipt. Never had a problem and the ride is great for the last 11 months. The wider tire looks a lot better since it fills out the TB's extended wells. Too dark right now, but I'll take and post pics tomorrow.

Re: Tire sizes for stock TB's with stock 16's..

We had mounted 265/70 16's on my sister's '02 TB when she owned it. Made for a remarkable difference actually over the 245/75 16's that were on it when they bought it.

Rode and tracked excellent, til the transmission went south.

Ramblin, 265/70-16 and 245/75-16 are basically the same sized tire. If they were both 75 series, there would be over an inch diff in overall diameter.

Yes, they are the same size diameter.

I only mentioned it because they were not listed as an optional size on your primary post. Many people don't realize that they are the same size, and, that the lower profile of the '70 series in that size did wonders for the TB over the 75 series.

IIRC, there isn't any noticeable difference between 255/70 16's or the 245/75 16's either.

Yep, this is a pretty cool thing, because it gives you more options should your tire shop not have the exact *size* you want in stock. You could go with these:

235/75-16
245/70-16
255/70-16

Above are all basically the same sized tire (extremely close anyway). Of course you'd have to request this from the tire shop since most will only put on what the door jamb lable or book says. 235/75-16 has been the standard 16" tire since ~2005.

FWIW - for everyone's info when looking for optional sized tires and the fear of a tire shop turning you down for going *against* what the door label says - try Discount Tire.

As long as they don't rub or cause friction when they're mounting the tire, they don't care what size you're requesting.

Re: Tire sizes for stock TB's with stock 16's..

Nicely put Ramblin Man. Discount Tire has always been great for me. Balance checks for free. They even patched a tire on another car of mine and didn't charge for it. I guess the money I've spent there since justifies that level of service.
They measured the well and then told me the biggest tire they would put on. The LT265/75R16's fit well and have not given me any trouble. I really like the way they look around the rim. I would post pics, but the forum says I'm not allowed.
BTW, can anyone let me know if there is a way to put up pics?
