Losing Radio Presets and Interior Lights
Not sure if this is related to the run down protection or not. I have a 93 Grand AM GT with the 3.3. The car has a new battery and alternator within the last month. In the morning, I come out and open the door and the interior lights do not come on. The car starts up fine and runs fine, and the interior lights will come on after the car is started if I open the door. I also noticed the clock radio has lost memory and the presets are also gone. Once the car has run and is shut off, everything is fine until the next morning again. Little stumped on this one as I don't know where to start. I have spare modules from under the dash from a writeoff that I can swap out. Just not sure if there is a module that would cause this problem.

Re: Losing Radio Presets and Interior Lights
Check your door switches. It sounds like one of the doors isn't closing right or the switch is bad causing the interior lights to stay on. They are programmed to turn off after 15 minutes or so, I believe it shuts off the power to the lights until the ignition system is cycled off and on. Your radio memory wire is probably wired in to the same power source which would cause it to loose the memory. Good luck.

Re: Losing Radio Presets and Interior Lights
Thanks. Today for some reason everything was fine, but that gives me somewhere to look. Since the passenger door does not usually get used, I suspect it is the driver door.
