Question Transmission rebuilded but not responding

[color="RoyalBlue"][ I fix my Beretta automatic transmission ( 125 (3T40) myself. The problem is that in reverse it runs like new. But foward in any gear I have to accelerate almost to 5,000 rpm to move the car. Some times on low gear the car run on reverse, What I did wrong? Please help me on this I'm out of money to take it to a repair shop. By the way, all check balls are in place...

Thanks, Raymond /COLOR]

Re: Transmission rebuilded but not responding

I don't know much about mechanic. I'm fixing the car my self because I'm not working due to a stroke i suffer two years ago and there is no money to pay a shop. I just take all parts out the trasnsmission chamber and put the new ones back together with a diagram that I get on other forum. I don't take the converter out I fixed without taking down the transmission. There are some parts that still in the kit that I dont use. Maybe thats the problem. But how I know? I have an 89 beretta for parts but is 4 cyl. with a standar transmision. Can I use this transmision on the 2.8 motor? I also have a fastener that looks like a 1" nail. I fogot where it goes.
Thanks, Raymond

Re: Transmission rebuilded but not responding

well obviously u didnt do something right, if it works in reverse just fine the torque convertor is out the question

how badly were the bands worn? did you replace them? thats more than likely your problem right there
