Radio?

The radio in my sunbird does not stay in stereo, it fades in and out like the signal is bad. It plays cassettes fine.

Any ideas?

stereo means that it is local station, if it is faiding out then it could be the tuner. go to a junkyard and see if u can get one for cheep. or it could be a sliced antena wire cause one of my dads cars had a sliced antenna and it would barely pick up any stations( radio only played am ) i would check the antenna wire mostly.

I agree WYG. The antenna cable runs close to the wiper transmission and the passenger side door hinge, so either could have pinched/damaged the cable.
