2000 malibu overheated and now won't start

i have a 2000 malibu that over heated. i stopped to cool it off and added water to the system. needed just about 8 more miles to get home. temp started to go up again but light did not come on. car died and after two hours of cool off, it started again after many attemps. got it home with no problem. it hasn't stated since. can smell fuel when trying to start it but it will not start. it does turn over. also the transmission seems to slip after warm up and when trying to go up a hill on the passing gear. i have the v6 engine. have already had the intake gasket replace about a year ago along with having the heads machined back to level becuse they were warped at a cost of $1500.00. need help!!! anyone have any suggestions?

Ummm take out your oil dip stick and see if the oil looks like choclate milk.
you may have warped the intake manifold, see if you see any leaks also

Has the check engine light come on ? I think it is possiblre that you have an upper mnifold leak. It is possible that something else like a fuse or something for the ignition. Well suppose it starts, your not going to drive it are you ?
I think if it were me I would have it towed to the dealer. Even if it starts driving the car , even to the dealer will just compound what the cars has gone through already and possibly cause a wreck if the car cuts out suddenly.

the check engine light would come on intermittenly before this happen. i had just driven it on about a 500 mile round trip the week before with no light at all. there was no engine noise or vibrations when this occured. has there been any problems with the upper manifold gasket going out. i just had, I guess, the lower intake manifold gasket replaced about a year ago. where would an ignition fuse be located??
