A/C Problems

I just recharged my 88 Chevy Pickup with R12. Now the A/C compressor turns on but then right back off, over and over. Is there a short or a relay I need to replace? Thanks alot!

Sounds like a short cycle from a low charge. You might want to check pressure and your charge again might need a little more.
