Fluid Leak
My wife wanted a smaller suv, she got a 2005 Escape. I changed the oil a few days ago. Looks like the oil filter and drain plug was not tighten properly. Like I said I changed the oil so I made sure both were tight. Just looked under the car and I think I have trans fluid leaking near a black rubber piece in a seam. Not sure it could be oil. Anybody else see leaks under thier Escape?? Its a V6 AWD..Thanks Tony

Re: Fluid Leak
My Tribute V6-AWD had a leak that was the seal for the rear driveshaft.
Jack it up and clean every thing to isolate the location. Don't know if they use a fluid motor mount, but that can leak (like the one in my wife's Toyota). |

Re: Fluid Leak
Dealer has to replace the front seal. They called Friday and said the torque converter has to be replaced also. Only have 30,000 miles, so we got a loaner, a Mazda 6 nice car. Are the Escape's know to have this problem?
