Need help: Bare Metal Foil issues

I have finally mastered (?) the art of applying bare metal foil for chrome window trim. It looks really nice, right after applying it. However, it does not stick well, especially the very thin parts. Larger parts stick very well. But parts that are about 2mm or narrower kind of just "lie" there adhering to the surface but do not stick.
This causes all kinds of issues when I handle the model to finish it. I checked the tutorials and instructions but could not find any help. Am I supposed to use a glue? I have the metal foil glue from Microscale but that seems to be for larger areas.

Who can help?

Something's definitely wrong with the foil/glue. That stuff should stick seriously good, no matter what size it is. What brand/manufacturer of foil have you got?

I am using the Bare Metal Foil (I think the company is called the same) and it is new from the store.

Re: Need help: Bare Metal Foil issues

The quality of the adhesive on BMF seems to vary; seems only a very fresh sheet has really good adhesion, older sheets seem to be more problematic. Older sheets also tend to dry out and shrink, getting small cracks in the surface-when this happens, the foil is nearly useless. I've heard that storing it in a refrigerator is a good idea, but that doesn't help the sheets that have been sitting out for how long?? at a hobby shop before being sold.

Microscale makes a bare metal foil adhesive, it's a good backup to have when BMF isn't sticking well. You can even make your own BMF using the cheapest/thinnest aluminum foil you can buy.
