7.3 diesel question

I have 115,000 miles on my diesel. The engine was running great and I parked it for about 2 weeks. Went to start it and yes it started but is smoking black and has absolutely no power. It will hardly pull itself down the driveway. No power when you hit the accelerator but will fall back to idle fine except for the smoke. When you hit the accelerator the smoke is much more. Turbo problem or what. Words of assistance are appreciated.

Re: 7.3 diesel question

Yup, need more information. There have been three different 7.3 diesels over the years - 7.3 non turbo IDI, 7.3 turbo IDI and 7.3 turbo DI (PowerStroke). What year is your truck? Any modifications (intake, exhaust, chip if a PowerStroke)?

Re: 7.3 diesel question

The vehicle is an F-250, the year is 2000 and the vehicle has a chip. I am going to pull the chip out to eliminate that from the mix. Thanks for any assistance.

Re: 7.3 diesel question

Good deal. Let us know if pulling the chip makes any difference.

Re: 7.3 diesel question

might sound silly but have you checked to see if some critter made a home in your intake?????? or if something else is blocking the air??
