So heres the deal... i got this L7 12 in the trunk of my alero in some home made decent box and we have this old probe sitting in storage that we are going to get working for gas reasons and what not... but anyway... couple questions...
1. how much louder is a sub in a coupe (Probe) compared to a sedan (alero). 2. i know its probably preference but, which way should the sub face? a.towards the trunk b. away from the trunk c.the front of the box towards the trunk with the sub mounted reversed?

Re: Discussion with the father
1) depends on the box, the difference of the 2 cars, etc ... impossible to give a useful number figure.
2) again, depends on the car. You will have to try it and see. As a general rule they are loudest in a trunk if you put the box close the back seat, facing backwards and in a hatch usually with the sub facing the glass. |

Re: Discussion with the father
Going from a car with a trunk to a hatchback you will notice a very big difference mostly just because you no longer have the back seat muffling the sound. Best way to mount it is with the sub facing up towards the hatch basically so the sound waves will hit the glass and reflect forward. You will have to readjust your amp though as you will be able to notice faster if the sub is distorting since there is nothing muffling the sound.
