92 grand am tick

my 92 gand am has sohc the small motor quad 4 it tick after it warms up and it tick only when i hit the gas i think it is a lifter

What oil are you using, and when was your last oil/filter change? Lifters tick when they are clogged...many times you can reduce/eliminate ticking simply by changing the oil or going with slightly lighter weight oil (however stay in the proper ranges for your climate/driving style/factory recommendations)
Many Mitsu owners have had success with using Redline oil to eliminate lifter tick. I personally havn't had it bad enough to try Redline, but I'd believe it.
