Angry car got flooded today

so ya im living down at the beach and today it stormed real bad and on my way back from class i didnt know it but my apt parkinglot was under 4ft of water and this one spot i assumed it wasnt that high but i was wrong so i mad it half way or atleast far enough where i could get out and push without any water getting in. well the engine wont crank.. all there is is the battery clicking. the water was up to the top of the hood for only 15 seconds then it sat in about a foot of water.. im not sure how badly shes fucked but im assuming new plugs wires starter maybe a new coil pack or something.. i really have no idea.. any ideas of what all is fucked

Re: car got flooded today

Probably alot....and that is assuming you didn't hydrolock it. It doesn't take a whole lot of water to do it. If your car gets flooded, never try and start it until you have allowed any water in your intake or cylinders to get out/evaporate. But start with the basics.

Pull the plugs and take off hte intake, allow everything to dry. Try turning it over a few times. Replace the plugs and try cranking it. If that doesn't work, check the battery/starter or have Autozone do it. Check the ECU...if your engine was submerged, it may have been too. Check your fuses as well. If they are good replace wires + coil pack.

Just keep in mind it maybe totaled. When you take into account all the electrical stuff that can be ruined. If you have to replace the interior too due to water damage. Plus engine rebuild if you seized it and bent the rods...
Also remember it's salt water...so wash the salt off your car if it still works...save the paint and underbody.

Sorry man
