Exhaust for 3800 V6??

Anyone have any good sites with sound clips or have sound clips you can post here of some exhausts for the V6 firebird? Im sure Borla and Flowmaster have some systems, but are there any others that sound good but not too over the top? Basically, I know its a V6 and Im not trying to make it sound like a V8, but Id like a little throatier exhaust eventually. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Magnaflow is the only way to go with the 3.8 besides borla and it is to much $$$. Get some headers on it also and it will sound like a v8 almost.

Does Magnaflow provide the LOUD muffler sound? I have V6 3.8L too and I am too looking to make this upgrade.

Re: Exhaust for 3800 V6??

with header it will be real loud. Flowmaster makes it loud usally but does not flow as well and on a v6 it usally sounds like crap. So do a magnaflow catback and if that is not enuf for you, put on headers.

its rough with the V-6 engines to make them sound beefy. i own a V-6 grand prix and ive debated on putting an exhaust on it. it always sounds good at idle but when yuo get on it. it sounds to ricey regardless of the brand. thats just my .02 worth

Thats what I am thinking too. Ive heard a few and im not happy with the higher revs sound. I was hoping someone had stumbled across a good one. I have heard some good exhausts on V6 trucks before thats why I was thinking possibly they had one for the bird. Ill just keep an eye out and hopefully Ill find a decent one.

Click on the link and then go to where it says clip1 and clip2. Those are video soundclips for you to listen to...

Yea, I checked that Magnaflow site out as soon as it was recommended. It sounds like a 3800 V6 to me by the way. The only thing I dont like about it is the riciness in the higher RPMs it sounds like. I had a V8 and have heard plenty of LS1s as well and that wasnt a V8...but it did sound pretty beefy for the 6...but I can still hear the 6 in it. It looks like Magnaflow is the way to go. I havent found anything else yet, but Im going to keep looking until the day I actually buy a system. Any suggestions in the mean time Im all ears. Thanks again guys.

Re: Exhaust for 3800 V6??

Im not too sure myself...why I was asking for some opinions. I guess no one else has done the 3" on the V6...would be interesting to know what that would do for the sound though.
