go to ebay and search "88 civic intake", an intake pipe is an inteke pipe, well known brand or not, but i would on the other hand go buy a better filter than some of the ebay intakes come with; here is one for ya:

Whats the best?

Hey, I was thinking about getting an AEM Competition CAI from www.nopionline.com for like $212, thats a good price and I believe AEM is one of the best, are they not? Would there be a better intake that may make my exhaust sound better or give me more hp (i know im only gettin like 1 or 2 horsies, so i'm more focused on helping sound)?

An Intake is an intake. The only benefit of the AEM is it comes with the bypass. $212 is a lil pricey just for a name.

A lot of those bypasses are shit though, I may be wrong, but i think they are just little sponges to let the water out, but there were instances of people sucking the sponge into the engine

You could always just buy an ebay generic and slap and AEM sticker on it thats what i did:finger:

that link i have posted above....i bought my intake from him, its the exact same cai and its only 50 bucks, it sounds KILLER and i did feel a slight power gain after i put a k&n in 'er, but dont even care, because it doesnt add much hp, i just did it for the neat sound, it is a great cold air, i talked my buddy into letting me put his aem on my car, and i felt absolutly no differance, and sounded almost exactly the same......as melt said, just go with the ebay generic
