Hi Gang! Ive not had any problems for a while which has been nice
I have now however got a clunking noise on starting and it sounds like its coming under the center console. Its a 89 Cherokee Lareado 4x4 auto 4.0. Ive just bought a house and now have no real spare money so I would like to figure it out now before it becomes more expensive!Quinny |

Re: Clunking on start when cold
CHeck your tranny and T-case mounts. Could be hitting the floorboard. Also you can look at your exhaust, my 00 XJ did it and I just cut a heater hose in half to act as a insulator.

Re: Clunking on start when cold
Hi guys, thanks for your answers. Have checked the engine mounts and they are good. Whilst underneath looking at transmission I found a round rubber ring approx2-3 inches in in diameter with a small hole in the middle. I cant find a place for it and dont know what Im looking for on the trans mounts.
Any pointers or ideas? Thanks Quinny |
