95 driver's seat wobbles, window switch broken
Folks,
My '95 9C1 will not pass inspection because the driver's seat wobbles front-to-back a couple of inches or less. I know, find another inspector etc but the last guy wanted me to redo the back brakes and I don't think so... anyway the tracks that the seat rides fowards and backwards on have HDPE bearings that look pretty worn, but I can't figure out how to get to them w/o pulling the seat. Plus, then I would have to find a new pair of bearings, argh. There isn't a setscrew that I can adjust or something, is there? Anybody else seen this? While I'm at it, the switch for the driver's side window is broken, that's an easy fix but the darn thing costs like $175 and if I get a junkyard one it will probably break after one day -- my last Caprice had the same problem. Any thoughts on that? The switch iteslf works fine, it's just that the little bitty plastic lever that pushes the actual switch has broken. |

Re: 95 driver's seat wobbles, window switch broken
I'm not sure about your seat except maybe to get a new track from a junk yard and take the seat off etc etc... A quick bootleg fix would be to drill a hole in the track and put a screw in it. As for your window switch, go to the junk yard, and grab a couple of em. They won't break right away unless the car's been sitting there for a really long time. But when they do break, it'd be nice to have another right on hand. Otherwise I'd say spend the buck and 3/4.

I'm pretty sure that any seat track from a 91 to 96 Caprice, Roadmaster, or Fleetwood Brougham, or any of the 1977+ RWD B or C bodies for that matter, will fit your car.
