Wip: Dodge Race Truck (New AF Member)
Hey there guys, i'm new to the forum. Just started up an old kit I had laying around. I have a couple more to do still aswell, The Penzoil Top Fuel Dragster, an the AMT Vielside Supra kit.
The kit i'm currently working on is a Revell, Mopar Performance Parts Dodge Race Truck Kit. Right now, I'm just working on the chassis, I have the motor finished already. Just took some pictures tonight, sorry about the horrible quality, it's a webcam w/ manual focus, I tried to get it as focussed as possible. I don't have an actual digital camera right now, so I either use the webcam, or I have to borrow/pay for new batteries to use my sisteres digital camera. Anyways, heres the pictures: ![]() ![]() Any imput is greatly appreciated. |

Looks like a good start. Is this like the Craftsman truck series race truck? Still regret not buying that kit.

Hi Shiftyjm and welcome to the forum. The webcam doesn't do it justice but I can tell that the cam-belts look cool and the rocker covers look shiny... nice work.
Is this 1/24th? I guess it is. All the best and keep up the good work, BillyPee |

Yes, this model is the "Craftsman" kit. (well, it has a craftsman decal on the windshield).
And yes, it's a 1/24th scale kit. Thanks for the imput. Right now i'm painting the roll cage. I have the body painted, but I need to clear coat it. (i'm not very good at painting) |

Re: Wip: Dodge Race Truck (New AF Member)
Well, I know how to get the paint on, I just can never get the paint to look really smooth and extremely glossy like a couple of you guys. I can make it look alright, but not super shiny.
I tried polishing but i don't think i'm doing it right.

Re: Wip: Dodge Race Truck (New AF Member)
Alright, well I finally got around to putting a nice good coat of clear on the truck today.
Been working on the interior, got most of the roll cage painted, just need to paint the cage pads up. Once i get this done, i'll try to borrow my sisters digital camera and get some "good quality" photos up. |

Re: Wip: Dodge Race Truck (New AF Member)
Alright, took some pictures today. Still using webcam though
So the photos aren't the best of quality. I'm still going to try and borrow my sisters digital camera to get some good pictures.Still have some touch ups to do on the cage, but it's coming along nicely. ![]() ![]() I will take better pictures of the paint once I borrow my sisters camera. Webcam can't bring out the real shine in the paint. |

Seems to be coming along nicely. Looking forward to seeing the wheels on it.

Re: Wip: Dodge Race Truck (New AF Member)
I'll be using just the kit's wheels most likely. Nothing fancy, I just want to get this build, and my TFD build done so I can work on a Tuner kit and actually start some customizing.
I've got the cage all glued to gether in place, working on the seat and shifter and a couple other parts. Will get more pictures when possible. About the digital camera, my sister has it packed in her "hospital bag" as she's going to be going to the hospital at any given time - why you ask? Cause' i'm getting a nephew! |
