2002 Tahoe EGR valve

Does the 2002 Tahoe have an EGR valve? If so where is it? I look at the Haynes manual and it is not where the manual shows it.

Re: 2002 Tahoe EGR valve

My 2001 Hoe EGR valve is right in front of the oil fill cap. Round with wire connection at top and two bolts.Should be cleaned every 60,000. Easy to do, disconnect wire and undo bolts. Clean it with a soft rag, cleaner or metal brushes not recommended. Just did mine, hope this helps........

Re: 2002 Tahoe EGR valve

Found this of interest. Look at your VIN-number. If you have a (Z) in the numbers ,usually the 8th digit from the right. Then there is no EGR valve in this particular engine. Its a flex-fuel system type. VIN numbers with the letter (T) and engine sizes 5.3 4.3,4.8,6.0 have a EGR valve. Hope this helps.
