91 tc strange starting problems

When you turn the key to start-all idiot lights light up and car starts. Runs great. Take it out of park and car shuts off. Just as if you turned it off. Go to start it again--it cranks but won't start. The only idiot light that comes on when you turn the key is the battery light. Wait exactlly 6 minutes-turn key to start--all idiot lights come on and car starts. Runs great--take out of park -- car shuts down. Repeat the whole proccess agian. Need ideas.

Inreresting problem, I'm thinking there's a problem with the reverse position. Will it start in "N" or start in "P" then real quick blast right bye "R" to "D"..

It happens when you go into any gear. Then you have to wait 5 minutes to be able to start it again. Just like something has to reset itself.

does it by any chance bog down when you hit the gas pedal at all when in gear?? sounds like the idle-air control might be malfunctioning. had a problem like that on my old 92 crown victoria and that was the problem. however, i didn't have to wait five minutes to restart, it would always start right back up.
