heater/blower issues....'93 Delta 88 LSS
Our blower recently stopped working.
One day it was working fine. The next....nothing. We have an '87 Delta 88 and something similar happened to that one. All we had to do was go to a local junkyard and get a part for the heater unit and replace it. All worked fine then. But with this being a "newer" vehicle and the heater unit being electronic, I'm guessing not such an easy fix?? Does anyone have any suggestions on this? Do you know if this is going to be a pricey to fix? I'm just glad that this happened in the summer and not the winter, but it's definately going to need fixed real soon! |

Re: heater/blower issues....'93 Delta 88 LSS
I can't recall if there is a fuse for the blower motor, otherwise I'd say that it is possible that the motor has siezed.
Assuming the controls are electronic, they should have a fuse as well. Was the motor making any high pitched noises? A burnt smell? Was it blowing as hard/fast as it should have been?

Thanks for responding!
Everything was working like normal and then poof....nada. No weird noises, smells or working funny. ![]() We have an appointment w/ the mechanic tomorrow for something else, will have this looked at too. |

No wierd noises, eh? I'd assume your motor is OK then (but still a possibility). Most likely is a blown fuse or a stuck relay.
Another possibility would be that the mixer doors are jammed shut (actuater could have died). Might as well have the mechanic check the fuses, it shouldn't take him more than a minute or two to check through them.

Re: heater/blower issues....'93 Delta 88 LSS
I'm assuming it has the automatic climate control. Not the exact same conditions I faced but when my blower went to high when the car was off, then it quit all together. I replaced the blower control module and it was fixed. Hope it helps.

Yea, it does have the automatic climate control.....I for some reason was drawing a complete blank on what it was called the other day. Duh...
![]() Is that blower control module something expensive? |

You could always take a risk on junkyard parts. Unfortunately, electronics are really risky but even if you get two and only one works, then it still may be cheaper than new... just a thought.
