Re: this thing got good reviews.for us a/t guys

Theres been a thread on this once, I dont remember what was in it but that thread could be a good source of info.

I know a guy from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area that has one. He loved it for like a week until it blew up his tranny.

Isnt that just like slipping tow to "Low" then shifting up a gear at eatch time?

lol....sweet deal there

I hate to say it, but I don't think an A/T is meant to be able to shift on command like that. It's just not built for it.

Re: this thing got good reviews.for us a/t guys

ok well i still think its a cool idea and it seems to work for a few people.and the guy said that if your not happy he will return the cash.are you sure the guy that blew up his tranny was using this one,cuz this one is a little different.ok thanx for the input guys, later from the website

The TCUGO is using a true pressure control. Unlike the other shift box out there, we are controlling the pressure the exactly like the stock TCU does. Also , the stock TCU all the differents shift pressure setpoint have been applied to the logic behind the upshift/downshift in the TCUGO. You can select from stage 0 (100% stock pressure control) to stage 5 (full pressure on all upshift and downshift). Stage 0 and 1 are identical to the stock TCU pressure setpoint. The only difference beeing that stage 1 upshifting full pressure when at wide open throttle. Stage 2,3 and 4 are for harder pressure setpoint and stage 5 for full pressure control (drag and road race application).

Re: this thing got good reviews.for us a/t guys

I've heard many good things on it as well. But, the trannys are not built to handle that kind of extra pressure. Its not a matter of if they will blow up, its a matter of when they will... I believe that you can install some different components into your tranny (small things like springs and balls and such) and it will be strong enough to handle the extra pressure then. Even with that though, the automatic still won't last near as long as it would running stock pressure.

My brother runs a performance automatic in his 1g so I get to hear about this stuff all too often. lol

Say what?...

Nice post meat stick. Its people like you who cry and ask the questions, "Why are people being mean to me when I ask for help". They aren't being mean, just the fact that you have been here how long and you cant learn to post right/follow a simple guideline? Some peoples kids!

Anyways, I wont be a total ass, I'll give you an opinion...

Why get TCUgo when you can basically do the same thing with out it while shifting manually. Put the car in low, hit the gas, it wont shift until it hits redline or close to it. Put it in 2nd and it will do the same thing. Sure the TCUgo will make it shift faster and be able to allow you to bounce off the redline but there is no point in it with a stock tranny. Making it shift faster is going to do more harm than good and why the hell would you like to bounce off the redline. Until you have a shift kit along with better clutch packs I wouldnt try to make it shift harder. Especially a "neon" tranny or you might be looking for a new one shortly. They are not ment to be shifted like a manual. This is why people break shit and think DSMs are so unreliable. Stop being a ricer and trying to act like you have a manual tranny. If you want it to shift like a manual, buy a manual.

Have a good day.
