Need some opinions

As probably nobody knows or cares, I sold my 99 RCSB Z71 b/c I was upside down on the payments. I sold it, paid it off, and pocketed about $6000.

I then bought a 97 GMC ECSB 2wd for $6600 w/136K on it. Pretty nice truck, has some problems, but its paid for. Its not anything like what I wanted when I bought it, but I had to have a ride.

Now heres the question.
I found a '03 ECSB GMC Z71 w/ about 120K on it, fully loaded, for $15,000.

They will give me 6K for my trade, so I'd finance about $9,000. Payments are right where I'd want them for 2.5 years.

Do ya think this is a good deal? The 03 retails for almost $20,000 on KBB and the trade in on mine is only $4000.

I'm still jawing back and forth with them on the price of the other one. But is this something I should keep going with??

Theres another 03 there with the RealTree package (ya know, camo flares and trim. Very gaudy IMO) that has 83K and they want 19 for it.

Well, if it was me. I'd say Nay Nay. & Yes I remember you sold your old truck...sad sad thing that...

The reason I say No is because of the mileage. It's almost 4 years old and has the mileage on it for a 6-7 year old. I know I know Mileage isn't everything but, it's something to consider. Without knowing it's history or how it's been treated you may want to wait for something with a little less mileage. Heck Mine is 7 years old now and it only has 138000 Kilometers on it....

And just my but, IMO the 03's just look a little different than the 99-01's. Can't put my finger on it just don't really like the look of those newer ones; I guess I'm just bias.

The only reason I'm considering it is because its a GMC. I really like the GMC front ends, but like you, I wasn't impressed with the mileage. I might call and see if they'll take a few thousand less. I think if I could get it for about 11,500 I'd be doing good. I'm not worried about mileage, I just kind of want to get back into a nbs. And I never thought I used the 4wd on my old truck as much since it's gone. Open diffs and 2wd's suck in Ga red clay.

Yeah, if you could jue him down on price and your happy with it then i'd say go for it. Around here it so rarely snows and the need for a 4x4 is a waste of mileage and vehicle weight.

Here's an idea...try to work out a deal where you get the same price for the higher mileage truck but with a power train warranty. I have no idea if that's possible with alot of miles to start with but for me...the biggest concern would be the engine, trans and related parts. Also...I think the GMC trucks look much better then the Chevys but around here you can't find any good used ones for sale. I would say at any given time there are 20 Chevy trucks for sale. But...with so many Chevys it's hard to know when you've found the right one.

I'm sorry fellas I am a Chevy fan...never really liked the big gaping look of the GMC. Funny how one little detail can detour one from looking at a certain model of vehicle.. All that aside the Denali grill really looks good in chrome... Guess I'm just a Chrome Nut!

before I got my truck I was looking hard long and far for a good deal on a used gmc truck for some reason there is not that much of them out there for sale used here in california I think its a great deal does that include tax and finance fees for the 2yrs or so that 15k sure can fool you if not you better look at that then see if you still want it

And my favorite. This is local. 2004 Chevy z71 ECSB 26K miles. DUnno price yet, but it has a lift. Its in immaculate shape. Heres a quick cell phone pic.

What do you mean, fan of white? Honestly, I wasn't a fan of white either but, it kinda grows on yeah and the graphic down the side of mine helps me forget how white mine really is.

maybe it does but it would not be my first choice that white nbs with a lift is pretty cool to me though

Yeah, someday when i win the lottery I'd like to repaint my truck either some vibrant metallic blue or that new Chevy Yukon Bronze colour.
