Exclamation 95 Cougar XR7 v8 idle control motor location

hi names eric im lost and dont really kno to much about cars but i need help locating the idle control motor on my engine its a V8 4.6L SOHC im tryin to find soon before it goes out on me

you're engine idles at like 40 mph right???

you need to replace the air vacume valve, I had the same problem...


Look for your air tube (big black rubber thing) follow it all the way back and you should see you throddle cables, right behind them you'll see a screw that you can turn with a flat head screwdriver. Thats for adjusting your idle, if that doesn't do anything you either have a vacume hose leak which you'd be able to hear or you have a valve that needs to be replaced. If its computer related unplug your battery for about 5-10 min. I'm certain its the air vacume valve. They run about $70 at the automotive store... Or $140 at a repair shop however you prefer to have your money spent.

check for vaccum leaks

Don't be adjusting the idle screw!!! You jack it all up!!!!
