3rd Starter

Hi all,

Very strange issue on my 97 Olds Eighty-Eight. It is now on its 3rd starter in less than a month. The last on lasted only 2 days before the care failed to start. I am getting nothing but a single click from the selenoid/switch. I can see getting a bad starter...but a third one???? I guess it can happen, but I was curious to see if anyone has any idea, or experience, on what to look at upstream that may be the root cause of this. The battery checks out okay, but after that I am at a loss on where to look.

Thanks,

Jeff

Re: 3rd Starter

Has the car started with either the previous 2 starters?

Otherwise, do you have a service engine soon light on (with the key in the on position)? Are all the wires to the solenoid in the correct spots and tightly screwed down? Was the entire starter AND solenoid replaced?
