Aveo - Problem Starting

Please help! I am looking for someone who may have had a similar issue...I have had a problem with my Aveo starting, as of late. I have had my car in the shop four times in the past two months for this issue. It does not seem to be brought on by any one particular event. In the four times that I have had it in the shop they have attributed the problem to carbon deposits, a loose wire, etc. and have even gone as far as calling Canada for technical assistance. They have printed me a page - from lord only knows where - stating the "process" I need to adhere to when I encounter the problem with my car starting - including pumping the gas pedal (on a fuel injected vehicle??)...I have been told to change the type of gas I use and the place that I purchase it from for a period of three fillups...on one occasion they kept it for a week and were actually able to reproduce the problem - I have it in writing!!!! Eureka, I am not nuts like they would want to have me believe! So...this is sort of my last ditch effort to try and rally the cause for keeping my Aveo - as temperamental as it is - or getting a lawyer and making some lemonade!

Re: Aveo - Problem Starting

this thread seems kinda old. but heres what you can do when a "no start" problem happens.

Spray some starting fluid into the intake on your car (ive never seen an aveos engine before so idk what it has) and if it starts right away the problem is fuel pump related. might not be the pump could be something else with it. but try that first

fuel pumps should last many years, but running the tank to E then filling it is bad, the fuel cools the pump, and when its low it works harder and heats up to much, causing problems.
