Thumbs down elcipse and sonata one and the same?

hey i have a great question i just bought a 06 sonata with the 2.4L engine i have recently heard that my engine and the spyder engine have some thing in common THERE THE SAME? made by mitsu the difference is that the sonata engine is stroked hence 2.4L can anyone put this myth to rest or is it fact?

Well, if the motor is a 4g64 then its the same motor as the 3G eclipses with the I4. The 4g63 motor is the 2.0 liter motor from 1g and 2g cars, so your motor would be the stroked version of those, not the 3G. In any case...I dont know what the point of this thread is, you could have found that information out anywhere if you knew what you were looking for.

that was the point of the thread i didnt know what i was looking for see there are no real upgrades for the sonata out right now but if the plant is exactly the same as an eclipse then i could purchase the mods i want

it may not be exactly the same, but i do know that hyundai and kia both use Mitsu blueprints for a majority of their engines. That would be why they appear the same. you could try using it, but modifying a sonata is like pimping out a geo... it is a lost cause.
