Bumper to Bumper coverage
Does my 04' Bumper to Bumper coverage cover brakes? I dropped my truck to have the steering linkage repaired (again) and also had them rotate the tires. Now the brakes pulse when braking hard. I've only got 600 miles left till I reach 36K, so it's my last chance at warranty repairs.
Also, they only lubed the steering linkage, and IMO, didn't resolve the problem, only dampened the symptoms. I'm gonna bitch to them to put another replacement in, but I expect that to eventually fail again. Do Chevy dealers typically offer a one-year warranty on repaired parts? I'm thinking I'll have to hold their feet to the fire to repair this every year or else I'll eventually be forking over $ to fix their design flaw. |

Re: Bumper to Bumper coverage
The brakes are an iffy topic. Usually covered under 12k, as I recall its discretionary under 24k. They'll more than likely tell you you're on own your at that mileage.

Re: Bumper to Bumper coverage
I found this on their website:
What parts of the braking system are covered? GM considers brake components, such as the brake rotors, calipers and all attaching hardware to be warrantable components that are covered under the bumper-to-bumper warranty. Normally, brake pads are considered a wear component and are not covered under the Bumper-to-Bumper warranty unless they fail due to a manufacturing defect. As always, anything that you are experiencing difficulty with should be checked by your nearest dealership for diagnosis. Looks like I pay for pads and their labor, turning the rotors should be free. |
