Cool Pcv valve location on 1989 Ford Ranger 2.3L

Does anyone know where pcv valve is located on a 1989 Ford Ranger with a 2.3L 4 cyl?

The parts store sold me one, but I've been unable to locate it on the engine. I figure i'll be working around and come across it, but, nothing yet.

Re: Pcv valve location on 1989 Ford Ranger 2.3L

autozone gives me the location of:

UNDER HOOD, CENTER, UPPER ENGINE AREA, DRIVER SIDE OF
ENGINE, BETWEEN ENGINE BLOCK AND INTAKE MANIFOLD,
MOUNTED IN VACUUM HOSE

i looked there, i did find two vacuum tubes i had not yet found, but damned if i can find that pcv valve. the one i purchased has two smaller vacuum tubes off of it, so it should be fairly easy to spot. oh well, i'll keep at it.

Talking Re: Pcv valve location on 1989 Ford Ranger 2.3L

Even the dealer has issues finding parts for my 2.3. Here's my experience with the PCV: The part at AutoZone is not the right one. I had to get it at the dealer. The location that AZ gives is correct. The problem is getting to it. You're not going to believe this: Start by removing the LF wheel. Remove the splash guard in the wheelwell. The PCV is attached to the hose by a plastic spring clip. The plastic is fragile and breaks very easily. It's a major pain to remove and replace this. Knowing what I know now, I would not go to the trouble of replacing this again. The PCV is a simple mechanism that rarely fails. Unless you know that it is gummed up and stuck, I wouldn't worry about it. Good luck!
