93 sunbird serp belt tensioner
Hi all,
I wonder if someone could tell me if the bolt holding the serp tensioner is left or right hand thread? |

Re: 93 sunbird serp belt tensioner
Thank you for the welcome and the answer. I cannot tell you how stubburn and tough that bolt is to get to and off. I have liquid wrenched, tapped, heated, flash cooled and put the bottle jack under the socket wrench and lifted the car up without even a groan from that bolt.

Well if righty doesnt work, you surly could try the other way.
Might be some Loc Tight on it to keep it from getting loose.

Re: 93 sunbird serp belt tensioner
The only left hand threads i have found on autos were lug nuts and they had a L stamped in the stud.
I am suprised it didn't break if it is this tight. Use a 1/2 breaker bar and a impact socket. Bump it a strong pull will break it. Try a 3/8 impact wrench. Are you on the bolt some studs are welded on for loosening the belt as they are welded they don't turn. I really think this is the case. |
