check Guages light

I have cherokee 2000 sport i have the engine light on for almost a year now they told me i have 5 O2 sensors in the car i need to confirm that is it right ?i have replaced 4 of them but still the light on ..

My second problem is strange i was driving in hot condition the temp is good when i stope in a trafic light for long time suddenly the temp went very high and the check guags light comes on for maybe 10 sec. i put the car on N and then back To drive mode the light went off

What is that

The oxygen sensors read the fuel after it is burnt in the exhaust pipe area.
If it is too rich, it reduces the duration of the fuel injection squirt. If it is too lean the injection stays on a little longer. It does this in small intervals to make the mixture just right for efficency and reduces pollution.
