Another ls/vtec ?
I have done some searching on this site and others and can't seem to find anyone that has done a gs/vtec swap. Maybe I'm missing something here but the gs does not come factory vtec .. correct? Also what kind of #'s are you guys that have the ls/vtec putting down. Just curious as the the gain of the vtec head. I have seen a lot of people that say that the torque increases tremendously.

The LS and GS have the same engine which is a b18b. The swap is commmonly known as LS/VTEC. I personally don't know what kind of gains you get from this conversion, but have heard you will be faster than a stock GSR.

That's what I thought as far as the ls and gs being the same. Just wondered if there was "something" different and that's why it was ls/vtec only. So I guess you'd be looking at high 6's for 0-60 if your faster than a gsr.

it's just commonly know as an ls/vtec. it just goes together like pb&j. but the engines are the same. there is an entire post on this if you want to read it.

that is what i am using because i am building my ls/vtec right now it has everything u wil need

Cool. Thanks for the replies. There is a whole lot more to it than I would have thought. I'll definitely have to start saving if I ultimately decide to go this way. By the way .. good post BamBam89lx, very informative.
