Here's the contents of my old-school MR2. I plan to detail it up nicely since i found lots of reference pics of the engine and all. Brake discs are on the agenda. It's gonna be painted in automotive mica blue, which is absolutely the most gorgeous blue i've laid my eyes on. Now about those rims... they just look puny... but as this kit is rare, i'd like to use as many box parts as possible... now i'm in a quandry..

Man~ I was expecting more from the engine detail department
![]() Those are RS Watanabe wheels, my favourite wheels in the whole wide world, so don't you diss them!! My friend is trying to find me this kit in HK as we speak, he said the store is out of stock at the moments. HK people have ways to find out of production models. hahaha Good luck with the detailing! I myself have lots of plans for the engine from this kit~ You could say I'm getting this kit only for the engine and wheels |

I ain't dissin the RS Watanabes... it's just that they come in 15" and that's a little too small for my liking, but I think I'll use them anyway cos they look so old-school and go well on the body.

Is this MR2 kit rare ?? I thought Fujimi still makes it.
Actually this MR2 kit originates from Nitto who did a non-supercharged version. I have this MR2 kit in its T-bar roof version on my workbench and spent some time narrowing the rear wheel wells: the rear wheels in the kit are 13 scale inches wide ! The wheels in my kit are the 'phone dial' type that were fitted by Toyota later on. There's two sets of front struts in the kit (extended and lowered), make sure you use the right ones. I cut one of the spare struts vertically and fitted these inside the rear wheel wells. If you want to show the engine details, remember to separate the engine lid from the trunk lid, it is a single part in the kit. Nice old kit, keeps you busy for a while but it looks good. About those brake discs, apart from the 'scratches' they look pretty much like the ones Toyota fitted to the real thing ![]() Enjoy, -- Eric. If your friend can't get the kit, it is
in stock at Hobby HQ (kit SK-04) http://www.hobbyhq.com.au/ and the hard-roof version (no Watanabe wheels) is in stock at HLJ http://www.hlj.com/cgi-local/hljpage.cgi?FUJ03458 HTH, -- Eric. Quote:
