seats

i bought a pair of racing seats for my 92 R/T and was wondering if anyone has put a pair in before because of course the sliders that came with it do not fit 100% the seats sit to low where you cant slide or change the position of the back. so i was wondering how somebody managed theirs.
or better yet anyone know where to get sliders that fit ??
thanks

Re: seats

sliders are "universal". which means you need to make your own brakets to fit them.

corbeau makes 3S spacific brackets, but I dont know if they will fit your car.

^ditto on the corbeau seats. If I remember correctly, 3SI is doing a group buy on them.

Re: seats

If you need help or suggestions on custom brackets, pm a guy named musashi3000GT ... he installed some in his 3s and had to make custom brackets for them...

Re: seats

I have a corbeau racing seat in my car and the brackets are easy to install. It also depends on what kind of seat you have. My first seat was a wide version and was a little to big for my 3s, so I had a hard time putting it in, but my regular size seat was very easy.

Re: seats

Awww, Rocker you remembered my seats thread!!!! Thats so ghey of you....
j/k hommie

Yeah I just used 1/4 inch steel brace that I bought at United Steel by my old office. I got 6 braces for like 50 bucks and then drilled the holes to fit the stock mounts and drilled holes to bolt down the sliders ontop of the brace. Took me a couple of hours to mount everything and it was a bargain compared to the price for the Cobreau sliders at 80 bucks a piece.
I still have those seats too. I took them out before I sold the car, I might put them up for sale soon.
