Toothpaste=Polish??

Does toothpaste work as polish? I got a show in 2 days and don't wanna ruin the paint for an experiment, by the way i got Enamel paint.

Toothpaste is not a polish but a cutting compound. I used it on my MR2 and it got the orange peel out pretty good. The surface comes out smooth but dull. You'll have to polish it up to make it shine after that.
