Should I trade my 98 Firebird for a 97 Trans Am?

I have the option of trading my 1998 Red Firebird V6 (pic of my car):

For a 1997 White Trans Am(not a pic of the actual car):

Should I do it?

Re: Should I trade my 98 Firebird for a 97 Trans Am?

Whats the mileage on it?

Personally i will never ever buy a t/a or firebird before 98 because i hate that front end. I think its so ugly. If you like it then i say go for it. I also dont really care for white but again thats my opinion

All in all if u like the pre 98 body style i say go for it! Your going from a v6 non w68(eww! ) to a nice powerful v8! (obviousley )

I say go for it. i dont think the front end is that bad. If its worth the trade do it. V6 to V8 is good.

Hey man it all depends on the condition of the car ofcourse(mileage,Tear and wear) and yours.
If it is about the same or you know you have abused the living shit out yours then i say to definitely go for it.

Go for it. V8 POWAR!!!! Try to keep the tires for awhile though. They tend to burn up in a haze.

The front end will surely grow on you, unless you really hate it and personally I like those fronts more than the LS1 bodies.

I talked to the guy today and he said that the car has about 145,000 miles on it and the engine has been worked on. The guy I'm talking to is a dealer and we're kind of friends. He actually recommended me to stick with my car because he's not so sure about the engine in the Trans Am. He said it's making a noise, he thinks it's the compresser. I'm probably gonna pass this one up. This guy is an F-body nut like me (although he's a bit more hardcore, he has a Trans Am bird tatoo on his right arm). He's had several F-bodies on his lot (talking to him about Firebirds and Camaros is how we became friends). I'll probably wait on this one. I'd rather have a Black or Red 97 WS6. My dad's 2000 WS6 is my weekend driver. I'm just looking for a Nice V8 F-body for a daily driver (I've had too many Mustang GTs pull up beside me on the weekdays).

Do you not like the 98+ style? Why would u want a 97 WS6 over a 98 WS6? Good color choices as well the only colors id ever get is red or black. 145,000 miles for a 97 is a litte steep

My situation is...I can sell my car, take the money from that and borrow about $1,000 and buy another car. So let's say I sell my car for $6,500...then I borrow 1k...I'll have $7,500...

It's very hard to find a 1998-2002 Trans Am in good condition for $7,500 to $8,000.

I like the 98-02 style better...but I am also very fond of the 1997 Trans Am. It has pretty much the same interior (I've noticed the speedometer of a 97 is the same as the 98-02).
