Snow Tires

hello all

i just picked up a 2001 330i w\SP and will need winter tires living in michigan. On my last car (IS300) I simply bought snow tires and mounted them to the factory wheel. I kept the look of the car and had awesome traction in the snow - best of both worlds.

I found that I can get blizzaks to fit my factory wheel and am considering swapping them with my factory wheel. What is the downside to this? I dont want to go buy some skinny wheels for my bimmer. I bought it for a daily driver and want to keep the factory look.

Suggestions?

thx

Well, I'm in somewhat the same situation...I have a 328i and I'm thinking of either getting snows on the factory wheels and then buying some M3 wheels and tires in the spring or else getting steel wheels with snow tires and sticking with the factory wheels I have now. I don't like the idea of switching tires on the same wheels twice a year...so I know I want two complete sets.

I'm leaning towards just getting the snows on the stock rims and buying larger diameter wheels/tires in the spring.
