Re: Idle and driving really rough.

yeah im a taker, you could start by checking all the basic shit like the air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, maybe plug wires, could be a clogged cat....

Re: Idle and driving really rough.

Im thinking its a clogged cat. cause brand new wires plugs and air filter, Have not checked the fuel filter. But yeah when i get it to start now there will be smoke/gas coming from where the downpipe leaves the exhuast manifold.

Re: Idle and driving really rough.

I have the exact same problem but I've changed the CAT, along with wires, plugs, and filters, The car is throwing P1404 DTC which is "Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Closed Position Performance" Anyone have any idea what this could mean? Maybe we have the same problem.

Re: Idle and driving really rough.

Yeah I dont know guess its stuck. Use the carb cleaner spray and that should help so im told. For my problem I still dont know. I beat the shit out of the cat and nothing different. My last plug wire to the right clyn 4 i gues. The wire is fucked brand new wires and it is fucked. Gonna try that I guess its connected just fine and was before i messed with it brand new wires to so I dont think thats the case. Guess ill check the gaps on the plugs and the vaccum hoeses.

Re: Idle and driving really rough.

If the check engine light is on, get it scanned (if you have an Auto-Zone or Advance in your area, they will scan for free). Post the codes here and we can go from there. Also , keep the language PG please, or you'll incure the wrath of the moderators.
