first i would check all the fuses in the side of dash and under the hood and make sure its not that.

Re: Radio, Tach, Speedo... VSS?
I just had a very simular problem with my truck. I checked the fuse under the hood that is for the radio and it's also for the gauge cluster. THe fuse was good but come to find out the terminals in the fuse block had seperated a bit and was cause poor contact on the fuse. If you have the same problem all his gauges will not work except the voltmeter and oil pressure gauge. These still worked on my truck when this happened. So the sum it all up check the fuse under the hood and if it's not burnt, then it may be seperated terminals.
